Meet Chef Amy Harris
Amy Harris began her professional career in 2012 at Jonathan at Gratz Park. Her culinary background is heavily influenced by her southern roots and she takes great pride in incorporating those elements into her modern cuisine. Amy believes that cooking is a very organic process and loves bridging together items that aren't necessarily “the norm.”
From a young age, by her grandmother’s side in the garden and in the kitchen, she learned to be comfortable with food in all of its forms and to make food prepared with love. Amy took that education and pushed forward to attend Sullivan University’s National Center for Hospitality Studies in Lexington, Kentucky in 2010 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Associate of Science Degree in Culinary Arts in 2012.
Working under notable chefs, Jonathan Lundy (Jonathan at Gratz Park), Jeremy Ashby (Azur Restaurant and Patio), Ouita Michel (Holly Hill Inn), and John Foster (The Sage Rabbit), Amy has been able to continue her never-ending education and push culinary boundaries while always staying true to her roots.
Amy joins the Azur Food Group team once again in their endeavor at Brasabana. Taking the reins from Chefs Miguel Rivas and Jeremy Ashby to continue their amazing work and push Brasabana in to the forefront of Cuban and Latino Nuevo cuisine in the Bluegrass Region.
